Cultura e sapori della Val di Vara: Suvero e Alta Via dei Monti Liguri
Ore 09,00 Partenza con pullman G.T. dalla stazione di Levanto per Suvero, caratteristico paesino nel comune di Rocchetta Vara.
All’arrivo, previsto in circa un’ora, si potranno ammirare oltre alle suggestive viuzze del borgo, il castello Malaspina risalente al 1100, oggi adibito a dimora privata e la chiesa antistante, di San Giovanni Battista.
Colazione nel circolo del paese con focaccia tipica ligure.
Ore 11,30 Trasferimento con il pullman a Casoni di Suvero ritiro del pranzo al sacco preparato da un agriturismo con prodotti tipici locali, e inizio del percorso a piedi verso il Passo del Rastrello nel comune di Zignago.
Il tragitto segue l’Alta Via dei Monti Liguri ed è percorribile in circa 4 ore.
Panorami mozzafiato, natura incontaminata e colori prepotenti, lasceranno un ricordo indelebile al visitatore che, percorrendo queste strade, si troverà più volte ad oltrepassare il confine tra Liguria e Toscana incontrando con lo sguardo, sullo sfondo, il mare solcato dalle barche che da un lato ci portano fino alle montagne della Francia e dall’altro ci offrono la costa della Versilia, mentre nelle giornate limpide, all’orizzonte, si avvista la Corsica.
Mucche, capre e cavalli che pascolano nel verde permettono al turista di assaporare la vera vocazione della Val di Vara fatta di agricoltura e allevamento.
Una guida racconterà la storia di questi, che furono luoghi di resistenza durante la seconda guerra mondiale, e con la visita al Monumento ai Caduti al Passo del Rastrello, sarà quasi come chiudere il cerchio di una giornata che ci ha visti immersi in un’altra dimensione fatta di storia, natura, colori, odori e sapori che solo la Val di Vara può regalare…..

- Percorso di facile esecuzione con dislivello minimo e su strada sterrata
- Abbigliamento consigliato: Scarpe da trekking, capellino per il sole. E’ opportuno portare una crema con filtro solare in quanto il tragitto è prevalentemente soleggiato e ad un’altitudine di circa 1000m.
- Munirsi di una buona quantità di acqua poiché sul percorso non ci sono punti dove approvvigionarsi.
- Ogni partecipante verrà fornito di uno zainetto per il pranzo con prodotti tipici locali e 1l di acqua.

Culture and the Tastes of the Val di Vara, Suveró and the Alta Via Dei Monti Ligure
Departing at 9am by coach from Levanto station for Suveró , a characteristic village, in the district of Rocchetta Vara council.
Upon arrival, estimated at about 1 hour later, you can admire not only the evocative alleys of the village but also the Malaspina castle dating back to 1100, today used as a private home , and the church opposite of Saint John the Baptist.
At 11.30 am you transfer by coach to Casoni di Suveró, where you pick up your packed lunch prepared by an Agriturismo which contains typical local products and start the walk towards the Passo del Rastrello in the district of Zignago.
The footpath follows the Alta Via dei Monti Ligure, which is a footpath across the top of our hills, it usually takes about 4 hours.
Breath-taking panoramas, uncontaminated nature and vibrant colours will leave the visitor who walks these paths with unforgettable memories. At times, you will cross the Ligurian Tuscan border and see far below the ships making headway through the sea that from one side brings you views to the French mountains and to the other the coast at Versilia, while on clear limpid days on the horizon you could see as far as Corsica.
Cows, goats and horses that graze the meadows allow tourists to taste the true vocation of the Val di Vara made by agriculture and the rearing of animals.
A guide will tell you the history of the Resistance of these parts during World War 2 and with a visit to the Monumento ai Caduti (Monument to the Fallen) at the entrance to the Passo del Rastrello, it will almost be time to close the circle of this day which has seen you immersed in another dimension made of history, nature, colours, fragrances and tastes, that only the Val di Vara can grant you. The lunch break is during the walk.
At approximately 5.15pm the coach leaves to return to Levanto.
Please note:
- The footpaths are not difficult with only minimal uneven sections and mostly on made paths.
- Suggested clothing, trekking boots or trekking shoes, a sunhat and it is a good idea to bring suncream as the pathways are mostly in sunshine and are at over 1000m (1600 ft).
- Bring a big bottle of water as on the trek/hike there are not places where you can refill your bottles.
- You will all be supplied with a packed lunch containing typical local products and 1 litre bottle of water.
